Warning: may stop tar sands pipelines and cause spontaneous outbursts of joyous dancing.
When we say NO to environmental madness, we say YES to the future that we want, that we can create together! A beautiful, fair, loving future.
BACKGROUND: TransCanada wants to convert a gas pipeline to transport toxic Tar Sands crude through Ottawa. The Energy East pipeline would carry up to 100 million litres a day of Alberta’s bitumen through sensitive areas around the city, even across the Rideau River! This is Bad for Ottawa, and Bad for the world because it helps expand the Tar Sands Industry, Canada's Mordor. We need to work together to say NO to the Tar Sands and Climate Change! I won't make you pay for this music. Instead, I am asking you. Every dollar is a vote, "Yes! Do that again!" If you like what my friends and I do, here is the equation: your support ($, love, dark chocolate, etc) = we can make more music ♥

And what do I see?
Energy East is
Coming for 613
BC stopped the pipelines
Heading out West
Big Oil’s new target
Is the East Coast instead
I don’t know about you, but me
I just wanna be TarFree
Its our chance to stop the flow
Raise our voices, and here we go!
1.Cuz’ we don’t want
Tar Sands kills
and Pipelines spills
2. We don’t want
A Canadian Mordor
And all of its horror
3. We don’t want
Dead wildlife
And Indigenous strife
4. We don’t want
Corporate greed
And manufactured need
5. We don’t want
Fossil fuel addiction
And all its afflictions
6. We don’t want
Toxic leaks
And poisoned creeks
7.We don’t want
Climate Chaos
That will surely slay us
8. And we don’t want…
More things, more bling, more rings, more cha-ching
Cuz’ what we want is blue skies above
And what we want is endless fierce love
And what we want is clean energy
And what we want is a green economy
And what we want is sustainability
And what we want is solidarity
And what we want is Ecojustice for all
And what we want is to answer the call...
"We get what we want" medley
Chorus: TarFree613! TarFree613! TarFree613! TarFree!
Three-part medley
TarFree!!!

My singer-songwriter name is Vela, "candle". The candle is a symbol of hope. A candle casts a warm healing light. It lights
up dark places. Even a modest candle can ignite a bonfire of change.
My songs shine an unflinching light on topical issues. I also revel in the delicious ridiculousness of life. I love co-creating exhilarating harmonies and soundscapes to share with you, dear listener....more
Words cannot express the wonder-fullness. Kevin's voice & guitar are sublime, the lyrics will indeed lighten & enlighten. So listen, download, & feel the good vibes ♥ Vela
